The technology of manufacturing flexographic printing plates with printing elements height below die level by direct laser engraving has been developed. The degrees of printing elements dot gain when placing the printing elements surface below the dies till 125 microns have been demonstrated. The flexometric and densitometric study of imprints obtained using flexographic printing plates with elements of different heights relatively to dies has been done. It has been shown that the developed technology significantly reduces the printing elements dot gain.

Keywords: flexographic printing plates, direct laser engraving, uneven printing elements.
