The article presents a comprehensive analysis of modern label printing technologies, considering the specifics of digital, flexographic, offset, and hybrid printing methods. The label manufacturing workflow is examined, and the key factors influencing production cycle duration, economic efficiency, and final product quality are identified. A detailed description is provided for the selection of materials, inks, and printing methods to color management, post-press processing, die-cutting, and finishing operations.
The study focuses on selecting the optimal printing technology based on specific print order’s parameters such as print run volume, material type, production time, color reproduction requirements, and the need for personalization. Using real production data from a Kharkiv-based printing company, a comparative analysis of the technological and economic indicators of different printing methods was conducted. The results demonstrate that flexographic printing offers high productivity and economic efficiency for large-volume print runs, digital printing provides flexibility and rapid execution for small to medium runs, while offset printing remains the most suitable for sheet-fed materials with high color accuracy requirements.
The paper highlights the increasing importance of automation, hybrid systems, and software solutions that integrate digital and conventional printing technologies to improve production continuity and reduce setup times. The technological printing order workflow have been developed and optimized with a justified selection of equipment and software tools. Time and resource consumption were analyzed, and practical recommendations were proposed to enhance production efficiency, minimize waste, and ensure consistent print quality.
The obtained results contribute to the development of methodological approaches for optimizing label production processes at modern printing enterprises, support technological innovation, and promote sustainable and cost-effective print production strategies.
