Digital transformations of academic journal publishing models

The study addresses the models of academic journal publishing in the context of development of open access to research. The concept of “overlay journal” as a new model of scientific article publishing has been defined, the forms of cooperation of overlay journal’s editorial and repositories have been described, especially the formation of the content and benefits of the use of overlay model for all of scholarly communication. It suggests the author’s approach to models of academic journal publishing in digital environment.
