Christian religion as a factor of ukrainian national genesis: publicistic interpre tation of sixties

The article has researched the role of religion in Ukrainian nation in its national formation and development (national genesis) in publicism discourse of Ukrainian Sixties during their mass-communication activity over half a century, that commenced in self-publicism form because of Brezhnev harassment, reached heyday in the late 80’s of the XX century, still due to some objective causes is less active these days. The form of religious genocide against the Ukrainian nation caused by the tsarist and communist occupation authorities of Russia has been defined. We have established the views of Sixties on the issue of confessional identification of Ukrainian Christianity through historical analysis of Ukrainian Orthodox and Ukrainian Catholic churches. The Ukrainian national ecclesiological ideal of Sixties has been modeled, that had been designed by publicists taking into account the religious history of the Ukrainian people and their Christian views as a dominant national identity.
