The article contains selected factors that affect the quality of printing from art gravure printing plates. Seven factors are defined that have a key influence on the imprint quality and the general features of each factor are considered.

Factors that affect the quality of printing from art gravure printing plates:

a – skill, professionalism, and technique of the artist;

b - paper selection, paper quality, and preparation for printing;

c – temperature;

d - selection of ink, preparation of ink for printing;

e - gravure printing press (etching machine);

f - selection of a plate (material), plate preparation;

g - techniques, method of mold production;

These factors can be both interrelated and independent. They can vary depending on specific embossing techniques and the artist’s style. In the printing process, it is important to experiment and develop one’s professional skills to achieve the best results. Understanding the properties of the factors contributes to the overall quality of imprints.

An analysis of its influence on the printing process is conducted. The importance of taking into account each individual factor is described to improve the quality of the plate, optimize the printing process, and then improve the quality of the imprint in relation to other factors. A comparative analysis of each factor that affects the imprint quality and its interaction with other influencing factors is performed. By analyzing and optimizing these factors, artists can create exceptional quality imprints with intricate detail, depth, and visual impact. When conducting the analysis, every stage of the process is taken into account, from preparation and manufacturing of the plate to obtaining an imprint. This study offers valuable information for both artists and graphic studios, students seeking to improve their understanding and practical skills of making imprints using art gravure printing technologies. A further direction of research may be the analysis of the properties of each individual factor and its independent influence on the imprint quality.
