The research of compliance of the maximum total inks coverage in the colour separation of images with the standards has been done. Numeric values of the total area of the ink overlay have been defined which describe the consumption of each of the colours on the average value of the relative area of screen elements on the form for forty selected images. The received results have been analysed and the comparison of data has been done with recommended standards for offset printing ISO, SWOP, GRACoL. It is shown how to use a new specialized program ICaS-Color Synthesis-2.0 at the prepress stage to carry out convenient control of the option TAC on the area of digital images that will avoid various negative phenomena in printing.
